Our Program at a Glance
At East Valley Christian School and Preschool, we offer a well-rounded educational experience built on the time-tested Abeka curriculum, which systematically develops early literacy, mathematical concepts, scientific exploration, creativity, and motor skills through hands-on learning that emphasizes spiritual, social, and emotional growth. Our experienced teachers provide personalized support, adapting materials to meet each child's unique learning style. What truly sets us apart are our signature programs: screen-free coding using Space Rover sets that teaches problem-solving skills, comprehensive Spanish instruction beginning in preschool, and exceptional family-friendly services including extended care options, year-round operation (closing only on national holidays), and partnerships with subsidized programs like GoKids, Choices for Children, and CalWORKs. We're a comprehensive educational solution that nurtures the whole child while accommodating busy family schedules. We are fully accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and The Association of Christian Schools International (ASCI).
The Abeka Curriculum: Time-Tested Excellence
Our preschool proudly uses the time-tested and age-appropriate Abeka curriculum, carefully selected to set a firm academic foundation for each child. This comprehensive curriculum:
Introduces early literacy through phonics and pre-reading skills
Develops number recognition and beginning mathematical concepts
Encourages scientific exploration and discovery
Fosters creativity through art, music, and imaginative play
Builds fine and gross motor skills through developmentally appropriate activities
The Abeka curriculum is specially designed for young learners, presenting concepts in a sequential, systematic way that builds confidence and mastery. Our experienced teachers adapt these materials to meet the unique needs and learning styles of each child, ensuring that every student receives the support they need to thrive.
Hands on Learning Approach
Young children learn best by doing. Our curriculum emphasizes hands-on experiences that engage all the senses:
- Discovery centers for exploration and investigation
- Manipulatives that develop fine motor skills and conceptual understanding
- Dramatic play areas that encourage language development and social skills
- Nature-based learning opportunities that foster wonder and curiosity
- Art and sensory experiences that stimulate creativity and self-expression
These engaging activities are carefully planned to develop focus, confidence, and self-expression—skills that will serve children well as they progress in their educational journey.
Spiritual Development
Spiritual growth is woven seamlessly throughout our preschool program. We believe that even our youngest students can begin to understand God's love and develop a foundation of faith that will guide them throughout their lives.
Our approach to spiritual development includes:
- Age-appropriate Bible stories that highlight God's character and love
- Simple Scripture verses that children can understand and remember
- Daily prayers that help children develop a relationship with God
- Character development based on biblical principles
- Worship through music and movement designed for young children
Our teachers model Christian values in their interactions with children and colleagues, creating a loving environment where faith is lived out daily. We partner with parents to nurture each child's spiritual journey, respecting different faith backgrounds while maintaining our core Christian identity.
Social and Emotional Development
The preschool years are crucial for developing social skills and emotional intelligence. Our curriculum intentionally fosters:
- Positive self-concept and healthy confidence
- Age-appropriate self-regulation and emotional expression
- Respectful relationship-building with peers and adults
- Conflict resolution skills through guided practice
- Independence and responsibility through classroom routines and jobs
Children learn these skills through both structured activities and natural opportunities that arise throughout the school day, with teachers providing gentle guidance and modeling.
Coding at EVCS – Space Rover Deluxe Coding

Our innovative coding program for Transitional Kindergarten uses the Space Rover Deluxe Coding Activity Set, a screen-free, hands-on approach where students program a rover using directional arrow commands through exciting mazes, obstacles, bridges, arches, and astronaut missions. This unique program builds early coding foundations by teaching students to sequence step-by-step rover movements, develop problem-solving skills as they plan routes and debug unsuccessful paths, and foster collaboration as teams design mazes and solve challenges together. The space mission theme connects coding with storytelling and creativity, making learning both engaging and imaginative. By building mental models for sequencing and debugging, our program serves as a bridge to advanced digital coding platforms while encouraging critical thinking, creativity, and teamwork in a fun, meaningful, and Christ-centered environment.
Spanish for All!
Our schoolwide Spanish program is taught from preschool through junior high, focusing on developing speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills through age-appropriate methods. We deliver interactive lessons that include songs, stories, and games for younger grades, while upper grades engage in conversation, writing, and projects. The program emphasizes cultural connections by teaching students about holidays, music, art, and traditions, alongside practical application through Spanish use in classroom routines and community events. With progressive skill-building designed to develop fluency year by year toward high school readiness, this program equips students with bilingual communication skills, builds cultural appreciation and global awareness, and aligns with EVCS's mission of academic excellence and leadership formation.

Top-Tier Facilities & Staff
At EVCS, we take pride in providing top-tier facilities and staff to support a safe, clean, and enriching learning environment. Our campus is equipped with hospital-grade air filtration systems throughout, and we employ a full-time janitor who ensures every classroom is thoroughly cleaned twice per week. Classrooms are outfitted with advanced technology to enhance the educational experience. Most importantly, our dedicated team truly loves what they do—many have been with us for 20 to 40 years, bringing passion, stability, and deep experience to our school community.
