# East Valley Christian School > East Valley Christian School (EVCS) is a private Christian school in the Evergreen area of San Jose, California, serving students from age 2 through 12th grade. Programs include a Toddler Program, Preschool, Transitional Kindergarten, Elementary, Middle School, and a hybrid online High School. EVCS integrates Christian values with academic excellence, using the BJU Press curriculum for K-12 and the Abeka curriculum for preschool. Founded in 1980 by Bishop John G. Nelson as East Valley Christian Preschool and expanded into a full K-12 school in 1988, EVCS has served Bay Area families for over 40 years as a ministry of East Valley Pentecostal Church.
